Coffee Date

Hello friends!

It’s been a while since we’ve had a proper coffee date to catch up. Is it just me or has this summer flown by?! I feel like just yesterday we were in May and now it’s almost… August? What. In. The. World. In all of that time we’ve had so much going on, so grab a cup a let’s catch up!

The Fort Worth Update

Oh how I love Fort Worth. Every day I live here, I love it a little more. When we moved here, I never thought that it would fit this well. Honestly it was more of a fun adventure but now it’s definitely home. Every week I feel like I find a new favorite shop, restaurant, or part of the city. Here’s what I’m loving right now:

The Lunch Box : The most perfect, simple, delicious lunch spot around. Oh and they have breakfast all day and are attached to the Black Rooster Bakery. It’s a win/win!

Monet The Late Years: I cannot wait to go see this exhibit. I love Monet dearly and the exhibit has some of the Water Lilies (yay!) and also some of his work that is largely unfamiliar to the public after he returned to painting in 1914.

Shop Hale House: I can’t stop spending my money at this store! Every piece in there from earrings to dresses to workout gear is colorful, fun, and overall a joy to wear.

The House Update

If you follow along on Instagram or Facebook, you know that we are currently renovating a house! I promise I’ll post updates on the house in the coming months as we get into projects.

The house is a lovely 1950s home with really great bones and some gnarly tile. The bathrooms hadn’t been re-done since the home was built and they had square tubs, shower heads that were so low they hit Brady in the chest, and some of the coolest knobs and pulls I’ve ever seen! Currently, we have gutted the parts we’re re-doing and are getting along with the not so fun but necessary things like plumbing and updating electrical.

We are about to start in on the design and I’m equally terrified and excited. I’ve been having a field day over on Pinterest. Head over there if you’d like to see how indecisive I am on style and how much I love green cabinets (ha!).

The Mom Update

I cannot believe how much I love being a mom. Of course I thought I would love it, but I never in my wildest imagination thought I would this much. I’m having the best time with my little dude. It’s impossibly hard and oh so rewarding. He’s almost eight months now and I really wonder what I did with my life before Jack. I had so much time and feel like I was so lazy with it! I might start posting more about the mom thing because I’m really that person now and you know what, I’m really okay with it.

The CDMB Update

The first half of season 3 of Chasing Down Madison Brown has aired! For the next 13 weeks, each episode from the first half will re-air. And while that happens, I’ll be hard at work filming the next half of the season. We have so many great things lined up for y’all, including going to a part of the country we haven’t been to yet!

People ask me all of the time how we find ideas for our episodes and a huge portion comes from YALL! Did you know that there is a submission form on this site that you can write to me and tell me where you think I chase down for the show?! Click here to tell me where you want to see me this fall!

Everything else:

For the longest time, I felt like I had no idea what to do with this space. I don’t think of myself as an influencer and don’t think that I’d ever really want to do that because I feel like I’m the person that the influencer is there for. I don’t have time to walk around a store and put together a cute outfit, I want someone to do it for me!

But I do love sharing things that I’ve found, tips on how to make life a little easier, and things I’m creating in the kitchen along with some thoughts I have about life. I’ve always wanted to do something special and different from the show over here, but every time I tried something it felt like I was forcing it. Oddly enough, it’s taken being the busiest I’ve ever been to finally know what I want to do over here! Stay tuned in the coming weeks for more of what that is.

Well, that’s all that I can think of for now. Cheers everyone and happy Saturday!

    Hi Madison…
I know you like suggestions about new adventures for your show. I wanted to share an idea with you.
My cousins and I went to a place for lunch today. Its a store called, “Moonshine.” You cant drink alcohol there…its not permitted. Moonshine is the name of the town… And by town, I mean population 2. Lol.
Its this old time store that has been frozen in time. Its the kind of place that your Great Grandfather would have stopped in to for lunch… especially if he were a farmer.
They open around 5 in the morning… and the grill shuts off at 12:30… so you best get your lunch order in early.
They have the best cheeseburgers ever.
They will even make you a fried bologna sandwich…lol.
You can sit on the benches inside or you can sit at the picnic tables.
Pray you dont have to go potty because there isnt an inside privy. Its off to the outhouse you go. SMILES.
It it way out in the country… It sits in the middle of a bunch of cornfields…. yet the place is always packed.
Its just a fun nostalgic place…. where one can step bavk in time, forget about the fast paced world we live in… and enjoy a cheeseburger.
They have a facebook page if you want to read more about it. Look under Moonshine, Il. and you should find it. If you decide to come, I would be tickled to help you find it!!!
